Amanda Holden's tragic Les Dennis marriage which was ended by brutal confession
Britain's Got Talent star Amanda Holden had a whole other life before she settled down and had kids.
ITV star Amanda Holden has not aged a day since she tied the knot with her first husband Les Dennis. However, their relationship hit the headlines when the 53-year-old had an affair which ultimately contributed to their divorce.
The duo met when they were cast in a production of The Sound of Music at Bournemouth’s Pavilion Theatre in 1993 and ended up saying “I do” two years later.
Back in 1995, Amanda had just turned 22 years old while he was 40. Les, 70, was a household name and the wedding was covered extensively in the press. Amanda wore a stunning white dress that pulled in her tiny waist and boasted a detailed embroidered neckline.
The full-length A-line gown looked elegant for its time, and she accessorised with a pair of satin evening gloves. Her hair was perfectly placed in a beehive, as she donned a a sparkling tiara.
Amanda was spotted clenching a yellow bouquet as she walked out of the ceremony arm in arm with Les, who beamed with delight. Les donned a three-piece suit which featured a pattern on the waistcoat.
The nuptials were dubbed as the showbiz wedding of the year, with the pair appearing to be in a complete love bubble as they smiled as onlookers congratulated them.
However, their union dramatically crumbled when Amanda's affair with BBC Line of Duty star Neil Morrissey.
Their affair hit the front pages, and the couple eventually sought a divorce in 2003. Although they attempted a period of separation in the hopes of salvaging their marriage.

However, Les left outsiders shocked after citing his own alleged adultery to expedite their divorce proceedings – despite Amanda being the cheater.
He claimed that his “affair” with an unnamed woman made living together “intolerable”, as reported by The Mirror.
Following their divorce they both moved on to new partners and embarked on creating a brand new life.
She made a heart-wrenching admission about their marriage, stating, "I terribly want children but I didn't want to have them with Les. That's a horribly brutal thing to say, but when you do, you know you have to move on.", reports the Liverpool echo.
Amanda started seeing music executive Chris Hughes – whom she later married in 2008 and had children with.
The television star is the proud mother to Lexi who is 18 years old and Hollie, 12. Although in 2011, she gave birth to Theo who was stillborn.
