Dickinson piloting New Jersey plane after Hurricane Irene
IRON MAIDEN frontman BRUCE DICKINSON will pilot one of the first planes out of New Jersey following a transport lockdown due to Hurricane Irene.
The storm claimed more than 40 lives when it struck America's East Coast over the weekend (26-28Aug11), and all flights in the area were cancelled.
Normal service is beginning to resume, and on Tuesday (30Aug11), Dickinson, a qualified pilot, will helm one of the flights leaving New Jersey, his spokesperson tells the Press Association.
The star will fly 200 passengers from Newark Airport to Reykjavik in Iceland in the customised Boeing 757 his band used for its recent world tour.
