Abba star Reuss loses legal battle with Swedish resort
Former ABBA star ANNI-FRID REUSS has lost her legal battle to recover a multi-million pound loan from a Swedish health resort.
The singer, better known as Frida, filed suit against the executives of the Yantorp Qigong facility, which specialises in Chinese medicine and meditation, in a bid to recoup a £4.6 million investment.
Reuss insisted the money was a loan to help fund the construction of a Buddhist temple at the site, while bosses at the centre claimed the star had made a very generous donation.
Her legal team asked for the resort to be pushed into bankruptcy to recoup the cash, but a judge at Malmo District Court in Malmo, Sweden ruled against her on Thursday (25Nov10).
Reuss and her partner Henry Smith, who was also a complainant in the suit, were ordered to pay legal costs amounting to approximately £15,000.
The pair's lawyers have vowed to continue fighting the case, according to Bthe Daily Telegraph.
