Inside Strictly Come Dancing's Anton Du Beke's £8million fortune

From professional dancer to one of the four judges on Strictly Come Dancing - Anton Du Beke has done it all since appearing on the show back in 2004.

This Morning: Anton Du Beke comments on celebs' first Strictly dances

Anton Du Beke has become as synonymous with Strictly Come Dancing as the dance routines themselves, having been on the show for 20 years.

The 58 year old professional dancer first took to the dancefloor in 2004 and has been paired with a number of celebrities, including former politician Anne Widdecombe.

And most recently, Anton swapped his dance shoes for a scoreboard as he now sits alongside Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse on the judging panel.

So it's hardly surprising the TV star a built up quite heavy coffers over the years - to the remarkable sum of £8million.

Now that Anton has stepped into the role of judge, The Sun claims he earns between £175,000 to £200,000 per series, while head judge, Shirley reportedly earns a whopping £500,000. Anton replaced Bruno Tonioli, who jumped ship to ITV, to appear as a judge on Britain's Got Talent.

During his time as a professional dancer on Strictly, he reportedly earned an estimated £65,000 per serries. And his partnerships with fellow professional dancers Erin Boag and now Giovanni Pernice, also appear to be a lucrative side hustle.

Anton and his partners take their talent on the road in between filming for Strictly and treat fans to their professional moves. It has been said that he earns an estimated £65,000 from touring around the UK.

Anton's upbringing was a far cry to the life he now enjoys. The TV personality has made no secret of the abuse he reportedly received under the care of his alcoholic father.

Speaking on Kate Garraway's Life Stories, he said: "The alcoholism and the violence… [it was] towards me, because I was a boy, a young man I suppose."

He continued: "You’ve got an alcoholic father and a situation where if you’re in the house [he’s] drinking then you end up with the fights and stuff."

He added: "You’d move room to get away from all of it and then he follows you in and the next thing you know the violence starts and then it came to a head one evening. I ended up in hospital for three days. I got stabbed, I’ve never said this out loud before."
