Serial killer Levi Bellfield, infamous for his heinous crimes in modern Britain, including the murder of schoolgirl Miller Dowler and young women Amelie Delagrange, 22, and Marsha McDonnell, 19, has reportedly confessed to additional murders.

Bellfield's lawyer recently revealed that the 54 year old has signed a new confession admitting to the brutal hammer attack and murder of Lin Russell and her daughter Megan in 1996.

Lin, 45, her daughters Josie, nine, and Megan, six, along with their dog Lucy, were tied up and brutally beaten with a hammer in a savage attack in Chillenden, Kent. Only Josie survived, suffering horrific injuries.

Michael Stone, 62, currently serving life for the crime, told the Mirror that he hopes Bellfield's statement, which Stone claims contains information 'only the killer would know', will help secure his release.

This is the first time murderer and rapist Bellfield has signed a written confession claiming responsibility for the double murder, which shocked the nation 27 years ago, reports the Mirror.

His shocking revelations are now under review by the Criminal Cases Review Commission, which has been investigating Stone's conviction since 2017.

Bellfield is currently serving two life sentences without the possibility of parole. But what has his life been like behind bars?

Life in prison.

The depraved killer is currently incarcerated in HMP Frankland, in County Durham, and due to the severity and nature of his horrific crimes, he will never be released.

Bellfield, a father to 11 children from five different women, was suspected by detectives at the time of his conviction in June 2011 to have been involved in approximately 20 unsolved attacks on women. In 2020, he reportedly lost his privileges to watch television and wear his own clothes in prison after engaging in a brawl with two other inmates.

The former bouncer was said to have been placed on lockdown and allegedly boasted about beating the duo who had provoked him over his past crimes. An insider revealed to Sun Online: "Two blokes were taunting him about his past. He gets a lot of grief because he's so notorious."

"It erupted into a fight pretty quickly and Bellfield got the better of it. He was saying they were stupid to pick on him and got what was coming."

In 2018, reports emerged that Bellfield had taken up a job as a binman in prison, sorting through recycling and rubbish.

Engagement to fiancee.

Bellfield met his current fiancee through the infamous Yorkshire Ripper, Peter Sutcliffe, who passed away in 2020, when they were both incarcerated on the same wing. The murderer began corresponding with the middle-aged woman from his cell, exchanging gifts and poems before speaking over the phone.

The unnamed woman, who is in her forties and describes herself as "very educated and intelligent", visited him at HMP Frankland where they shared "kisses and cuddles" and he proposed. Speaking to the Mirror in 2022, Bellfield's fiancee stated that she does not judge him for his past.

She expressed: "He is not a monster. Yes he has a bad past, but 17 years in prison changes a person. He has changed, he has remorse, and there are always reasons a person goes wrong in life."

"There is always a far bigger picture. He is 53 years old, still young and has to live knowing he will just grow old and die in that horrendous place."

Bellfield's former partner of three years, Johanna Collings, issued a stark warning to the woman intending to marry the convicted killer.

Having endured rape and abuse at Bellfield's hands, Johanna, believes he is deceiving the woman into marriage from his cell.

Jo, who also goes by Johanna, told the Mirror: "God knows what he's told her. He brainwashes people, that's what he does."

In a heartfelt plea to Bellfield's intended, Joe exclaimed: "Sort your f***ing life out what the hell are you playing at? Don't be fooled by him."

"He's a serial killer and rapist, who has killed kids and is a known paedophile see what he did to Milly Dowler and you think he's not a monster? Get real."

Fuss about marrying behind bars.

It emerged last month that Bellfield took to court over his barred matrimony plans in jail, utilising public funds for his cause.

The notorious criminal is deeply embroiled in a legal battle for the right to marry his enamoured girlfriend in prison, boasting to fellow inmates about the negligible cost for him.

In January 2021, Bellfield put forth a request to tie the knot with his betrothed while behind bars.

In a defiant letter penned by Carringtons solicitors on March 8, the firm declared it "unlawful" to block their client's wedding plans, as reported by the Sun.

The correspondence also cited the 1983 Marriage Act and the European Convention on Human Rights, highlighting prisoners' rights to matrimony.

Justice Secretary Dominic Raab expressed his views on LBC, stating: "Passing a law is never about any individual case."

He continued with a firm stance, "But I don't think it is appropriate and, both within the realm of the existing powers that I have but also the legislative agenda, on which I will be saying more shortly, I think it is wrong."

Raab further elaborated, "I think particularly in that kind of case, I think a lot of people, and I know your listeners will find it an affront to the basic system of criminal justice."

He also raised concerns about the potential risks involved, "But I also think there is a question around the risk around anyone who would marry an offender as egregious as, in this case, Levi Bellfield."

He assured, "What we protectively do to make sure they aren't subject, or vulnerable people aren't subject to that element of risk. So on both factors, I'm committed to doing what we can to prevent that taking place."

An insider revealed to the Sun the convict's reaction: "Bellfield's laughing that he's getting all this help for free. It's alarming that, as things stand, his barristers have the law on their side."

The source added, "The prison has kicked this into the long grass because they don't want it to happen, but legally they will probably have to allow it."

Meanwhile, a Prison Service spokesperson informed the Mirror, "The application is being considered in the usual way."
