Question Time: Piers Morgan accuses Nigel Farage of 'bottling it'

Piers Morgan has slammed Nigel Farage during an interview Jordan B Peterson, saying that the politician is a "treacherous little snake."

During his chat with the Canadian psychologist and author, Piers was asked about various politicians including Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage.

Speaking about the Leader of Reform UK, Piers said: "You know, I should get on well with Nigel. But I discovered to my personal cost he's a treacherous little snake. It was rough and I was disappointed in him.

"When he was working for GB News, I was on TalkTV and we were rival networks even though I didn't see it that way. I was three months away from launching my show on the new network and he was on GB News and he interviewed Trump.

"I sent him a text message saying, "Congratulations with your interview with Donald. I thought it was terrific - well done.""

Piers added that he secured an interview with Trump three months later, but ran into a problem as Trump had been handed a list of quotes about Piers criticising the former president during live broadcasts.

He explained that Nigel had tried to "sabotage" his interview with Donald Trump. He continued: "What a snake to do that, when I'd actually gone out of my way to congratulate him. I don't like people that do that. I find it very, very difficult to forgive people to who do that kind of thing."

Piers also added that Nigel was the "architect of Brexit" and that he is "not a fan" of the politician.

Also during the interview, Piers revealed why Simon Cowell hired him as a judge for America's Got Talent.

The US version of Simon Cowell's entertainment talent show saw Piers being a judge for six years and the opportunity came after he was fired from the Daily Mirror in 2004.

Speaking about when he got the call-up two years later, Piers said: "When Simon Cowell hired me [...] he said you're just as arrogant, obnoxius and judgemental as me."

He said that Simon wanted someone who was "not afraid to give strong opinions" but also had a "journalistic eye for talent" who would put pop stars on the front page.

Piers added: "I've never been a juggler or a fire-eater, or any experience with piano-playing gigs, but what I was good at was identifying acts that a mass audience would like."
