Loose Women panellist Christine Lampard has opened up about her "worst night" on television that led to her "running off" set.

The seasoned presenter, who has graced our screens for over 20 years including stints on The One Show and stepping in for Lorraine Kelly on Lorraine, recounted her experience of presenting Children In Need. During the charity event, Christine, now 45, battled through a severe stomach upset while on stage.

In a heartfelt interview with MyWeekly magazine, she confided: "It involved hosting Children in Need many years ago and I had a really bad stomach bug. I was really, really ill and it was dreadful."

She continued by describing the ordeal of being physically sick while navigating the demands of a live broadcast: "It was live television and I was running on and off set to be sick. It was just the worst night of my life."

Before joining the likes of Adrian Chiles on The One Show back in 2007 and subsequently working on other ITV shows such as Daybreak and Dancing on Ice, Christine began her TV career in Northern Ireland. In 2016, she became part of the Loose Women team, reports the Mirror.

Christine, who is married to former England star Frank Lampard, began presenting in her native Northern Ireland before joining The One Show with Adrian Chiles in 2007. She has also starred on ITV's Daybreak and Dancing on Ice before joining Loose Women as a panellist in 2016.

The star says she revels in the buzz you get from presenting live on television. She added: "I love it."

"If I could tell my teenage self what she would be doing now, she would not believe it. She would be stunned that Richard Madeley says my name when he does the crossover from Good Morning Britain to Lorraine."

Christine, who's been a big hit standing in for Lorraine, says she has to "pinch herself" when she's presenting the morning programme, adding that the veteran broadcaster is a "complete stalwart of television". She confessed that she "never gets bored" working on the telly and says she's "doing Lorraine today or Loose Women" rather than "going to work".

Christine reckons this is because she thinks it's a "real blessing" to be a presenter.
