Gaby Roslin steps in for Zoe Ball

Gaby Roslin stepped in for Zoe Ball on her Breakfast Show on Radio 2 today (July 2). Her stand-in told listeners she would be fronting the programme over the next few days.

She commented: "Gaby Roslin is sitting in for Zoe Ball for the next few days."

It comes after Zoe informed listeners on Monday's show she would be taking annual leave but would return to the airwaves on Friday.

Meanwhile, Zoe and her co-stars Richie Anderson and Tina Daheley took the Breakfast Show to Worthy Farm, to meet Emily Eavis, Nick Grimshaw, James, The Mary Wallopers, Basil Brush, Shaun Keaveny and Maisie Adam ahead of Glastonbury Festival.

Taking to Instagram she was inundated with messages as listeners praised her coverage, however, some critics issued a complaint.

BBC Radio 2's official account posted a photo with Zoe and her colleagues which was captioned: "And that’s a wrap!! Listen to the Breakfast Show live from Worthy Farm, catch up in full on the Zoe Ball & Friends podcast #Glastonbury."

One person commented: "Great show." Another penned: "Fantastic show Zoe."

A third remarked: "All having a great time at Worthy Farm!"

But others appeared less than impressed as they issued a complaint about the ongoing Glastonbury coverage.

One fumed: "Why do the news and travel reporters have to be there? Are there any (publicly funded) BBC employees NOT at Glastonbury? @bbcradio2 @bbc."

Another argued: "One reason to turn off Radio 2 .... banging on about Glastonbury 24 hours a day."

Zoe's appearance at the music festival comes days after the presenter feared she'd swallowed her tooth after a freak accident ahead of Glastonbury.

The presenter recalled the chaotic incident on her BBC Radio 2 show and thanked her dentist for coming to her "emergency rescue".

The presenter explained: “So I'm on a FaceTime with my brother Nick... We're discussing the ins and outs of Glastonbury and who's there and where are the kids. And I'm thinking, ‘I could do several things’ when I didn't realise [my brother] was FaceTiming me to start with.

“I picked my phone up. I was naked about to get in the shower - not what your brother wants to see. Anyways, I put my dressing gown on and we have a chat.

“I start flossing my teeth. So this front tooth, I knocked that out when I was very, very young - and then this one [the one next to it] I also knocked out so I'm talking to Nick and I've got the floss and it caught on the back of my tooth, it pings across the room and then the other one.

“And I’m in my dressing gown that's not tied, half my boobs hanging out, going, ‘I’ve got to go!’. I'm scraping around, I've not got my glasses on, I can't find the tooth, ‘where's the other one gone?’ I thought I was going to swallow it.”

Zoe had to rush to see a dentist to get her tooth fixed before she headed to Glastonbury Festival.
