Shirley Ballas has finally broken her silence on her relationship status with her toyboy partner, insisting they "adore each other".

The Strictly Come Dancing head judge, 63, sparked fears over her long-term relationship with Danny Taylor, 51, after she called off their engagement in 2023, before referring to them as "good friends".

In a new interview with Best, Shirley disclosed that she remains friends with both of her ex-husbands, dancers Corky Ballas and Sammy Stopford, before setting the record straight about her relationship with Danny.

Shirley said: "We're still together, and it will be six years this year. Danny's very busy with his acting career. He's been playing John Lennon and George Harrison, and he's doing this play and that play, so he's all over the place.

"He's always busy, but we make it work. Regarding all the things that you read in the press? Yes, I did say that I didn't want to get married because I think I've got a grandson now, and I want to be able to pick up and go off."

She added: "Danny's got a son who's 30 now, so we both have busy lives. But we adore each other, and we speak to each other every single day."

Shirley also gushed about her "incredible" grandson, Banksi, who has "brought an incredible amount of joy" into her life. She now shares her grandparent duties with her second husband, Corky.

She also revealed that she recently spent a week alongside Corky, with whom she talks "regularly", in Salt Lake City, Utah, and they taught dance at the same studio.

Shirley also keeps in contact with her first husband, Sammy, a communication she describes as "nice", while admitting she still chats to her first fiancé, Nigel, as he is her financial advisor.

"My mother is always shocked that I can happily keep all my relationships from the past," she said.

The TV icon accepted Danny's proposal in 2021, but rumours started to circulate after it was called off in 2023, fuelled by Shirley not including photos of her toyboy in her Instagram feed.

In February 2024, however, Shirley shared a snap with her partner to mark Valentine's Day, and both of them looked very happy.

She wrote: "Happy Valentine @danieltayloresq. Thank you for all the laughs, fun and sharing of time. You are a good egg lol.

"I’m looking forward to seeing you soon. Looking forward to some downtime soon too. Sending valentine snuggles."

Shirley and Danny initially became close in 2019 when they both starred in the Christmas panto Jack and the Beanstalk, and their romance developed when the performer separated from his ex-partner.
