Loose Women's Nadia Sawalha issues 6-word response to 'not being liked' after show fears

Nadia Sawalha has been a panellist on Loose Women since the show began 25 years ago, and she has now reflected on the milestone, after initially fearing the show wouldn't last.

Nadia Sawalha, the outspoken presenter of Loose Women, has responded to her critics. Having been a panellist on the ITV show since its inception 25 years ago, she acknowledges that her style may not be everyone's cup of tea.

The former Celebrity Masterchef champion told Bella magazine: "With a big audience, you've got to accept that some of them aren't going to like you. It doesn't bother me, I just do what feels right."

She added: "I never wanted to be vanilla. I've never wanted everybody to like me because I'm made up of lots of different things."

Initially, Nadia doubted the longevity of the show, suspecting viewers would tire of their discussions. In a chat with Bella, the actress, known for her roles in EastEnders, Casualty and The Bill, recalled how co-host Kaye Adams asked her: "How long does a woman have a conversation with her friends?" Reflecting on that first episode, Nadia agreed with Kaye's sentiment.

She believes Loose Women shines when the panellists personalise stories, sharing their own experiences and feelings rather than merely reporting events.

Nadia confessed: "We're at our best on Loose Women when we take a story and put it through our own lives. How do we feel about stuff rather than simply reporting on it. I personally like it best when we're having a lot of fun as well. I love it when we're having a bit of silliness - those are my favourite shows."

Never one to shy away from expressing her views, Nadia and her spouse, Mark Adderley, took a swipe at Rachel Riley earlier this year over an "apology" the Countdown star had issued following allegations of promoting Islamophobia.

In another recent contentious incident, the host stunned viewers with a heated argument with Denise Welch over Harry and Meghan.

Nadia was also recently cautioned that she would be "be in trouble" after uttering a swear word, leading to the show spiralling into disarray.

Her latest remarks were made in the context of an ongoing health campaign advocating for a cancer drug, known as Enhertu, to be accessible on the NHS.

She joined the campaign alongside her friend, Hannah Gardner, and labelled the drug a "game-changer" for women battling secondary breast cancer.

Nadia also opened up about her struggles with food and her "terrible relationship" with her body despite her body positive stance, which has earned praise from fans.
