Emmerdale's Lisa Riley shares rare insight into romance as couple mark milestone

Emmerdale star Lisa Riley has shared a rare insight into her love life with fiance Al as the pair celebrated a decade of being together. The 47-year-old usually prefers to stay quiet about her relationship but on Tuesday, the soap star wanted the world to know how much she adores her husband-to-be.

Lisa took to X, formerly known as Twitter, who shared a collage of pictures of the loved-up pair as they beamed from ear to ear in all of the snaps. She wrote alongside it: "Happy Anniversary Babes. Today we celebrate our 10 year anniversary. I love you. I quite like you. You make me laugh. You embrace my bonkers.

"We are still learning from each other. But MOSTLY, you are still able to make me SMILE. Here's to many many many more years of "YOU & ME." The soap star went on to add a variety of different hashtags, including #anniversary, #celebration and #emmerdale."

Her loyal followers flocked to the comments section to congratulate the pair as one person said: "Happy anniversary to both of you, have a brilliant day whatever you do." Another expressed: "Happy 10th Anniversary you gorgeous pair! Keep bringing the sunshine."

While a third added: "Happy Anniversary Lisa, keep smiling that lovely smile. xxx" Lisa and American musician Al got engaged in May 2018 as she shared a picture of herself wearing a huge sparkler on her finger. She gushed on X: "Yes I can now confirm the rumours are true... I have got engaged.

"My soul mate and best mate and love of my life Al is the best thing to have ever happened to me.

"We have absolutely NO date set for ANY wedding day, just happy together... zero fuss, just firmed our togetherness."

However, in 2022, Lisa revealed she has no plans to marry Al after both of them experiencing unimaginable losses in the forms of their mums.

Lisa made it known that she sees weddings as a family occasion and, now that the most important matriarch of her life won't be there to celebrate her nuptials, she feels there's no point in the event.

"Both of us talk about it all the time and feel as long as we're happy we don't need rings on our fingers," she insisted.

The star continued adamantly: "We don't want to change anything.

"We've lost both our mums. And when it comes to things like weddings, you do it for the other people."

The Loose Women star added to The Mirror: "I'm never going to change my name, so really, what would be different?"
