Dancing with the Stars: Selma Blair quits show

Amid her battle with multiple sclerosis, Selma Blair returned to the red carpet last night at the Tribeca Film Festival with an unusual date.

The 51-year-old was joined by Scout, her nearly four-year-old service dog, won over photographers as he made his red carpet debut at the premiere of Diane Von Furstenberg: Woman In Charge.

The English red fox Labrador smiled towards the cameras before lying down in front of the actress so she could take some snaps with her pals.

The Cruel Intentions star flaunted her figure with a tight asymmetrical black dress featuring a knee-high slit and some small black pumps.

Scout matched his owner with a simple black collar tied to a metal silver chain and padded leather hold for Selma to grip onto.

Selma seemed in good spirits for the evening as she bent over at one point to give her beloved dog some well-deserved attention while he willingly embraced the ear scratches.

Despite her health woes in recent years, the Hollywood star has kept a busy schedule in the entertainment industry as she’s serving as a juror at the film festival for the 2024 Nora Ephron Award which is meant to honor the “spirit and vision of the legendary filmmaker”.

However, her red carpet appearances are usually accessorised with a plain black cane rather than her furry helper.

Selma first got Scout in 2022, four years after her devastating Mutliple Sclerosis diagnosis in 2018 as the single mom was desperate for some extra support.

Shortly after bringing the four-legged pal into her home, the actress revealed Scout’s duty to People assuring fans that the adorable pup is always by her side.

She explained: “If I fall into a big [muscle] spasm or have some trouble moving and need to recalibrate, he can get between my legs, help me get up, and balance me. It's given me a lot of independence."

But the service dog isn’t just helping his owner as the Legally Blonde actress revealed Scout also gives her 12-year-old son Arthur comfort knowing that his mom is in good hands when he goes to stay by his dad, Jason Bleicka.
