Eamonn Holmes announces new career move with pal, 40, after Ruth Langsford split

Eamonn Holmes has made a surprising career pivot following the bombshell news of his split from wife Ruth Langsford, with whom he shared 14 years of marriage.

The television world was left reeling on Saturday after the couple, both aged 64, announced their decision to divorce, sending shockwaves across the entertainment industry.

Amidst reports that Eamonn is "refusing to play part" in what he perceives as Ruth's "very much orchestrated" narrative of their separation, the familiar face on TV is now venturing into travel presenting. He will be joining forces with Hayley Sparkes, 40.

In a statement regarding his new role as a spokesman for The Travel Franchise, the GB News anchor expressed his insights: "Working in news means that I often see or report on how the travel industry is disrupted. During the pandemic it was clear that those who had booked through travel agents had support and advice when they needed it most."

He further elaborated on his approach to holiday planning: "If I want something done I get someone with expertise in that field to do it and travel is no different. I would never think of booking my holiday independently. I pick up the phone and talk to a travel consultant who I know and trust, and who can add a layer of value and security to help navigate any uncertainties, ensuring a smoother and more enjoyable travel experience," reports the Mirror.

Eamonn is set to join Hayley, who has hailed the father-of-four as her "idol", in co-hosting a podcast.

Additionally, Eamonn has already taken the helm at a seminar aboard the luxurious Sky Princess cruise ship, guiding it through the Scandinavian seas.

Hayley expressed her joy at the opportunity to work with Eamonn Holmes, sharing a picture of herself and the former This Morning host on Instagram. She wrote: 'What a dream come true!

"My TV Friend and broadcasting idol @eamonnholmes will be working with @notjusttravelofficial.

"I can't wait to work alongside Eamonn co-hosting the travel podcast and presenting together on trips around the world."

Despite his excitement for the new venture, it's reported that Eamonn is 'furious' about his split from Ruth, having spent months trying to 'save' their marriage.

The Mail On Sunday quoted a source close to the Irish star saying that Eamonn would become 'very angry indeed' when questioned about the state of his marriage.They revealed: "His language became really quite rude.

"He was struggling to accept it," another insider added: "Eamonn's preferred way was not to tell anyone.

"Deep down he knew it couldn't carry on but he was kind of sticking his head in the sand. He is very upset indeed.

Following the public announcement of the sad news on Saturday, Eamonn is now preparing to speak publicly for the first time when he returns to GB News after the Bank Holiday.
