Ruth Langsford's 'irritation' with Eamonn Holmes revealed after shock split
Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford announced their separation via a representative on Saturday, leaving fans devastated.
Following their shock split which has devastated fans, it's being reported that Ruth Langsford was unhappy with Eamonn Holmes' desire to return to his native Belfast. Eamonn and Ruth, 64, announced their seperation on Saturday (25 May) via a representative who said: "Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing."
The pair are yet to publicly address the end of their marriage, but according to The Sun, Eamonn wanting to move back to Northern Ireland reportedly left the two at odds.
A source told the publication: "Eamonn and Ruth’s relationship changed when they left This Morning. They started moving in different directions in their careers and their priorities started to change.
"Eamonn was desperate to return to Belfast, which he thinks of as home, but Ruth would never move. It became a bone of contention. As her ITV career continued, Eamonn went down another path and they became ships in the night. For the past two years, they had led separate lives, professionally and personally."
The source went on to explain that despite the pair being apart, Ruth "has still been helping to nurse him through his health battles" and cares for him "deeply" but "just knows they can't be together".

The GB News presenter previously spoke of his wife's irritation with his desire to return to Belfast one day.
When asked where he thinks of as home, the former This Morning presenter expressed: "Well, it’s not Surrey. When people ask me what I’m doing at the weekend, I tell them I’m going home.
"Then my wife gets very irritated by this. She says, ‘This is your home. And I say, ‘No Ruth, this is where I work. This is where I have to be, but home…'"
Eamonn and Ruth have been married for 14 years after getting married in 2010 and spending 13 years together prior.

They are parents to their 22-year-old son Jack while Eamonn is also dad to sons Declan and Niall, and daughter Rebecca from his previous marriage.
The much-loved duo initially met in 1995 while Eamonn was the face of GMTV and a mutual friend introduced the pair to one another.
The two went on to become hosts on This Morning in 2006 before leaving the show for good 15 years later.
Ruth continued to be an anchor on Loose Women while Eamonn took up hosting on GB News in 2021.
