Strictly's Annabel Croft supported as she marks husband's death in emotional post

Annabel Croft lost her husband, Mel Coleman, last year when he died following a battle with cancer.

Strictly: Annabel Croft talks about her late husband

Former Strictly Come Dancing star Annabel Croft has thanked fans for their support as she shared a snippet into her grief journey. The 57-year-old lost her husband, Mel Coleman, last year when he was aged 60 to a short battle with cancer.

He died just 16 weeks after recieving the devastating diagnosis. Now Annabel has marked the first anniversary of Mel's death with a heartfelt tribute on Instagram.

The social media post included some snaps showcasing their memories together. There was a throwback picture to their younger days as well as a photo showing them sat in an empty van, another with their family enjoying what seemed to be a sunny holiday and a loving picture of the couple staring into each others eyes.

Annabel captioned the post: "1 year today. Miss you so much. Thank you to everyone for your love and support." She finished the post off with a red love heart emoji.

Johannes Radebe, who the former tennis player was partnered with during Strictly 2023, was one of the first to comment. He wrote: "Holding you all up my loves."

BBC radio presenter Zoe Ball added: "Huge amounts of love to you Annabel." Meanwhile Corrie star, Ellie Leach, said: "Sending lots of love Annabel."

Presenter Claudia Winkleman wrote: "Sending love," while Angela Scanlon commented: "Sending you so much love Annabel."

Anthea Turner echoed: "What beautiful pictures the last one made me smile the most. To have had and to hold was your gift. So much love to you all."

The TV presenter has been open about her loss and often talks about her husband. Speaking during the competition last year, the she said: "It has been a horrific year.

"It was something I've never anticipated – this was never meant to be how life was going to be. I thought I had a future with my husband."

She added: "We'd been together since I was 21 – 36 years together and I miss him terribly, there is no question about it. I so want to speak to him about what we are doing. I miss his humour and I really wish that Johannes had met him because I feel like they would have got on so well."
