Dominic, 38, is renowned for being able to fix up anything metal, as well as work his magic around a shoe-stretching machine, and he and Dean were left speechless by the bright shoes.
Dominic said “Are they real?”. While Dean quizzed the gentleman: “They are awesome. Where did you find these?”
The man explained that he got them from a shop called Mr Freedom in Kensington church, London back in the 70’s. Mr Freedom was a popular clothing boutique in the capital which sold fashion by a number of young designers commissioned by the owner, designer Tommy Roberts.
After looking closely at the sole, Dominic said they are definitely a pair from the 70s.
Explaining that how he obtained them the guest said: “I can’t remember where I had heard about them, but I had heard about them. And I went along.”

Before admitting: “I produced my entire grant – I was at art school,” which just about covered the cost.
Dominic responded: “What made you spend all that money?” as the man went on to say: “just because I thought they looked so fantastic”, before adding: "I have never felt so good about myself, it was as if I had grown a foot when I left the shop.”
Recalling the moment when he took them home, he said his sister screamed when she saw them, while his father said “You want your head examined”.
