BBC Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden rushed to hospital in sudden health nightmare
Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden has revealed she's been dealt another health blow just three weeks after finishing chemotherapy treatment.
Amy Dowden rushed to hospital with blood clot on lung
Amy Dowden was rushed to hospital this week as doctors soon discovered there was a blood clot on the professional dancer's lungs.
Taking to her Instagram Stories today, the 33-year-old announced she has since returned home as she detailed her health ordeal, in view of 631,000 followers, where she delivered the sad news.
The Strictly Come Dancing star began: "Hello everyone. Unfortunately, I've had another nightmare this week. It just seems to be never-ending. I was rushed into hospital on Monday and it came to our knowledge on Tuesday that I've got another blood clot on my lung.
"I know that they were really worried the clot was travelling to my heart or affecting my heart. Lucky enough it's not."
Amy showed puncture marks on her wrist and hands and said she'd had drips "everywhere".
She called the development a "shock" and is admittedly "gutted" about being admitted to the hospital and Amy explained how she now needs painful blood-thinning injections in her stomach for the foreseeable future.
The dancer continued: "I was on blood thinners anyway due to the blood clots in my arm. I've still got a blood clot in my arm. But now I'm taking tablets twice a day.
"I'm now on the blood thinning injections. I've had them before and they are not nice. I had them when I was in hospital for my Crohn's operation. They're just really sore in the stomach."
Amy is due to go for another scan in a few weeks but said her health woes have been frustrating and a source of concern for the dancer.

The Strictly star said she a had lot of work planned this week from doing a voiceover as she attempts to get her life back but added her hospital admission was just another setback after she recently broke her foot.
She commented: "You get into your head once you finish chemo that's it, but you learn it really isn't..."
Amy concluded: "I'm home now after a few nights in hospital."
The pro dancer is staying positive and said she also has her Christmas tree up ready to get into the festive spirit.
In another video, Amy also said it had been a "rubbish week" and believed her hair would start growing back but it's not yet happened.
"I guess I'm a bit deluded. I thought my hair would grow back," she commented. "I look at photos from two weeks ago and I look like I had more than I do now."
She went on: "I've got to wake until this chemo comes out of my system. My eyebrows and eyelashes - what I've got left - seem to be going. That's frustrating and it's getting me down. Hopefully, that's it now."
Amy underwent a full mastectomy before having chemotherapy and was also found to have had blood clots in the summer.
Despite her myriad setbacks, Amy rang the bell at her hospital three weeks ago to signal the end of her cancer treatment, and she had hoped to dance on Strictly in some capacity before the end of the year.
