Richard Curtis quietly marries partner Emma Freud after 33 years and two failed proposals
Famous screenwriter Richard Curtis is best known for his romcoms, including Notting Hill, Love Actually and Bridget Jones's Diary.
Richard Curtis is known for creating some of the greatest love stories for the big screen, but now it seems he has found his own happily ever after.
The famous screenwriter and producer, famed for films like Notting Hill and Four Weddings And A Funeral, has reportedly finally tied the knot with his long-time partner Emma Freud.
The pair, who started dating in the nineties, have already been together for a staggering 33 years - and now it seems they have made it official.
Emma reportedly let the news slip about their quiet wedding at The Times and Sunday Times Cheltenham Literature Festival in Gloucestershire.
She apparently spilled the beans while interviewing Richard E. Grant, the Sun reports.
Love Actually creator Richard, who was also in attendance, was reportedly seen fiddling with a gold band on his wedding ring finger.
An onlooker told the publication: “Emma confessed she had finally got hitched while interviewing Richard E. Grant.
“She said they’d been married for four weeks.”

It seems that as soon as Emma accidentally shared the news, it was clear that she was not meant to have said anything, as it is claimed she “put her finger to her lips and made a funny noise which made everyone laugh.”
She then apparently tried to change the subject but it was the talk of the festival.
“It’s not surprising Emma wanted to talk about it though,” the onlooker continued.
“They’ve been together for over 30 years so it was about time they got married.”
Emma is said to have previously proposed to Richard twice, but both attempts turned out to be unsuccessful.
While the film boss refused the first time and slept through the second, it seems the third time was a charm.
