Holly Willoughby's Dancing On Ice return 'makes little sense' after ITV show exit
EXCLUSIVE: Holly Willoughby announced she has left This Morning after 14 years on the programme but her future at ITV still hangs in the balance, according to a PR expert.
Holly Willoughby quits ITV's This Morning after 14 years
Holly Willoughby's return to Dancing On Ice "makes little sense" following the presenter's exit from This Morning.
The 42-year-old, shared a candid statement posted on Instagram on Tuesday (October 10) as the longstanding presenter bid farewell to the daytime show.
Carla Speight admitted Holly's exit makes for an "interesting turn of events" as she opened up about the presenter's future at ITV.
The TV star also presents Dancing On Ice on the channel, which she co-hosted alongside her former colleague Phillip Schofield, who departed in May.
The PR expert suggested that Holly may want to "branch out entirely" and cut all ties with anything related to her work with Phil.
Carla, who runs her own prestige PR company, told Express.co.uk: "Holly is going to look at branching out entirely. So anything that doesn't have an air of Phil about it.
"Obviously, she did Dancing On Ice with Phil so it makes very little sense for them to come back together or for her to do a show like that knowing that she previously did it with him. History will just repeat itself. It will be all that scandal being dragged up again.
"She would be better off doing her own projects. She should branch out and focus on Wylde Moon and maybe do documentaries."
Phillip's exit came in May after reports that his relationship with Holly had come under strain. A week after his exit, he admitted to having an affair with a younger male colleague and said he lied to his co-workers about it.

The presenter later stepped down from ITV altogether.
Carla believes Holly will continue to have a successful television career despite her exit from This Morning.
"Holly's never going to be short on offers for things to do because she's Holly Willoughby," she commented. "Pretty much everything she touches turns into a hit."
Holly announced she would be quitting the daytime show on Tuesday (10 October).
In a statement shared on Instagram, the ITV presenter said it has been an “honour to just be part of [the show’s] story”, but “I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family”.
