Gwyneth Paltrow considers giving up iconic blonde locks after ‘lazy summer' habits
Gwyneth Paltrow has left the fate of her iconic looks in the hands of her fans on Instagram - after "lazy" habits over the summer revealed her gray roots.
Gwyneth Paltrow reveals she 'doesn't want to exercise'
Gwyneth Paltrow shared some candid insights into her life with her eight million Instagram followers on Wednesday, opening up on topics from her marriage and step-motherhood to where she gets her trousers.
But the 50-year-old left one question up to fans to decide - as one follower couldn't help but notice the sprinkle of silver in her roots.
They questioned in the Q&A on her story: “Are you growing in to your natural grey hair? Which is beautiful btw.” (sic)
Gwyneth responded, giving viewers a 360 look at the clusters of grey peaking through her dark roots: “I don't know. I’ve just been lazy over the summer. Should I? Do you guys think I should go gray or keep my highlights?”
She added a small poll at the bottom of her story giving them the option to decided for her.
Unfortunately, the public seemed to be as divided as she is, with 43 percent suggesting she grows out the gray while 57 percent requested she “stay blonde”.
The Academy Award winner has kept her iconic blonde locks for almost the entirety of her acting career after making her mark in the Oscar-celebrated Shakespeare in Love back in 1999.
Although she has changed up her look slightly over the years, with her roots gradually growing darker to their current shade of chestnut brown, her dead-straight golden hair has made the actress instantly recognizable both on-screen and in her business ventures.
However, Gwyneth hasn’t been ashamed of showing off her natural roots every now and then, as she sported some silver flecks at the Golden Globes red carpet in 2020 and the Goop founder has been remarkably open on her views of the “double standard” for aging actresses.
She told British Vogue last month: “This idea that we’re supposed to be frozen in time is so weird.”

Referring to George’s Clooney’s unmistakable grey look, the Iron Man star claimed: “It’s handsome to go grey (as a man), but for women it’s like; ‘What do you plan to do about your wrinkles and your aging skin?’ There’s definitely a double standard.”
Elsewhere in the Q&A, the Seven star assured fans that her lookalike daughter Apple is “the best” and doing well while away at college.
She also revealed the true reason she has left the MCU, after one fan pointed out that they had asked the very same question every time she’d had a Q&A but had never been answered.
Gwyneth jokingly said: “Stop yelling at me! We just stopped doing it because Iron Man died and why do you need Pepper Pots without Iron Man?
“Call up Marvel and yell at them not me! I’m just sitting here!”
