Rod Stewart mocked for hilarious blunder as he shares throwback photo with Ronnie Wood
Rock legend Sir Rod Stewart and Rolling Stones member Ronnie Wood first played together when they joined the band Faces - formerly named Small Faces - in 1969.
Sir Rod Stewart was subject to some light teasing from his fans today after making a noticeable blunder on social media.
This morning, the rock icon took to X, the social media platform formally known as Twitter, to share a throwback snap from several decades ago with his 531,300 followers.
The Maggie May singer could be seen holding a microphone as he jammed with Rolling Stones legend Ronnie Wood, who joined him onstage playing the electric guitar.
He captioned the snap: “Me and Ronnie 20 years ago rehearsing at Top of the Pops, 1973!”
However, Sir Rod’s fans were quick to point out that something didn’t quite add up about his post.
Taking to the comments section, many of the star’s followers pointed out that he hadn’t got the maths quite right.
“50 maybe?” Steve offered, while Tim quipped: “Bad math, great music.”
“Thank you Rod, I feel young again,” added Arion, as Ben teased: “Its not 1993 Rod!”

Meanwhile, other fans took the opportunity to reminisce about that era of Sir Rod’s music and the days of BBC show Top of the Pops.
Sherri wrote: “Oh, what I would give to relive those days of my youth, again.
“I remember those ‘footballs’ being kicked into the audience at the end of those concerts. I wasn't lucky enough to catch one, though.”
While Mark commented: “I was born in 72 and think this phase with the faces is my absolute favourite.
“Grown up with your music in my life and it’s made it all the sweeter thank you Sir. For a man that’s lived a million experiences I wish you many many more.” (sic)
While Sir Rod and Ronnie are both huge musicians in their own right, they were also members of The Faces, which included former Small Faces members Ian McLagan, Ronnie Lane and Kenney Jones.
They formed in 1969 after lead singer and guitarist of Small Faces Steve Marriott left the band to form Humble Pie.
