From Harry Styles to Taylor Swift - all singers pelted by fans in disturbing concert trend
Music fans have been getting too close for comfort to these hugely popular artists who have all become victims of a worrying trend over the last few weeks.
Taylor Swift's voice breaks during emotional Chicago performance
Several high-profile singers have made the headlines recently by having strange objects hurled at them onto the stage.
Performers such as Bebe Rexha and Ava Max have even sustained alarming injuries during their shows.
And some artists have now started issuing warnings to the crowd, such as British national treasure Adele, who urged fans not to throw anything at her Las Vegas residency.
The Daily Express can run down all the artists who have been affected so far, but will the trend stop before another music star is hurt?
Bebe Rexha
Pop singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha was one of the first performers who was reported to have been struck by an object while on stage.
Rexha, 33, was performing at the Rooftop at Pier 17 in New York City on June 18 when someone in the audience threw a phone onto the stage.
She was struck in the face by a projectile and later took to social media to reveal a scratch and severe bruising she sustained in the incident.
“My eye black and blue now but much better!” Rexha has assured her fans in her latest update.
Ava Max
Ava Max, 29, was somehow slapped by a fan on stage during a show in Los Angeles in June.
The Sweet but Psycho singer claimed she was “scratched” on the inside of her eye by her assailant.
“He's never coming to a show again,” she tweeted. “Thank you to the fans for being spectacular tonight in LA though!”

Harry Styles
The former One Direction singer has been involved in several incidents with handsy fans over the years.
From being groped in 2017 and having a can of Red Bull thrown at his head in 2015, Harry Styles, 29, proves the worrying phenomenon hasn’t just sprung up recently.
However, he became a victim of the latest string of bizarre assaults when an object was thrown at him in Vienna during a show on July 8.
Footage showed him clutching his face in pain in the Austrian capital, just a few weeks after he was also struck by a bunch of flowers at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
Kelsea Ballerini
Country star Kelsea Ballerini, 29, was struck by a bracelet at Outlaw Field at the Idaho Botanical Garden in Boise last month.
She assured her fans: “It more so just scared me than hurt me.”
However, she still needed to take a break to recover from the incident and briefly left the stage.
Drake
Hotline Bling star Drake, 36, was seemingly struck by a phone during a recent gig at the United Center in Chicago.
Thankfully, he was apparently unfazed by the attack, as footage revealed the projectile hitting the floor while the singer continued performing.
Taylor Swift
The Cruel Summer star is currently one of the biggest performers of the moment thanks to her massive Eras Tours going worldwide.
Unfortunately, Taylor Swift proved artists aren’t even safe when they’re off-stage as she was pelted by numerous objects after a recent show.
A video on TikTok revealed her security was batting items away, which one fan later claimed were bracelets.
Pink
Thankfully, the So What hit-maker hasn’t been injured by fans, though her on-stage encounters have been equally baffling as of late.
At a performance during her Summer Carnival Tour in London, Pink, 43, was handed a mysterious bag which a fan claimed held her death mother’s ashes.
“I don't know how to feel about this,” she admitted, and looked rather concerned as she went back to performing.
The confusion didn’t stop there, as she looked even more dumbfounded when someone in the audience threw her a gigantic wheel of brie cheese during another London show.
Fans were left wondering what strange gifts Pink could receive yet, though, hopefully, she and her fellow music stars stay out of harm’s way.
