Corrie's Simon Gregson addresses hair transplant rumours after Steve McDonald's new look
Coronation Street's Simon Gregson has responded to fans questioning his character Steve McDonald's surprising new look, sparking rumours the actor could have undergone a hair transplant.
Simon Gregson, 48, has broken his silence after fans suspected the actor may have had a hair transplant after his Corrie character Steve McDonald showcased a style transformation.
The Coronation Street favourite caused a stir when he wore a cap during an episode of the show.
Simon's latest storyline had viewers on the edge of their seats, as they watched his character Steve support his daughter Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney, 20) after she stood up to Aaron Sandford (James Craven) who sexually abused her.
What confused fans, however, was Steve wearing a black baseball cap inside and outdoors.
He later responded on Twitter with a photo of him looking directly into the camera, writing: “To those who think I’ve had a hair transplant coz I’m in a hat I’m also in a hoodie with no boob job.

He joked: “Asking for a friend”, followed by several emojis making light of the situation.
Presenter Ian Lawman also found the rumours hilarious, replying: “So why are you wearing trousers then?”
Fans found other ways to joke about the rumours, adding: “You had your teeth done, because your mouth is closed!?” and “It did look suspicious. I was just thinking bad hair day". (sic)
The rumours began when viewers on Twitter asked about Simon’s change in appearance.
After the Monday episode, fans began asking on Twitter: "#Corrie what's with Steve in a cap all episode, has he had a hair transplant?" (sic)
Another user wrote: "When you come on Twitter to see why Steve in Corrie is wearing a baseball cap and find everyone asking the same. So it's either a bad haircut, a hair transplant or a mid-life crisis #Corrie." (sic)
Another joked: "Steve on a hair transplant then hope it's better than David's #corrie."
