Rebel Wilson discusses her decision to lose weight in 2020
Rebel Wilson, 41, has admitted that her own team didn’t want her to lose weight. The Australian actress said that they were opposed to her losing weight because she was earning millions.
I was earning millions of dollars being the funny fat girl
The star has shown off her transformation after starting to lose weight two years ago.
She spoke to BBC breakfast yesterday about how she got push back from her own team.
“I got a lot of push back from my own team actually, here in Hollywood, when I said, ‘OK, I’m going to do this year of health, I feel like I’m really going to physically transform and change my life’,” she told BBC Breakfast.
She added that her colleagues questioned why she would want to lose weight when it was apparently responsible for her success in the first place.

The star said: “And they were like, ‘Why? Why would you want to do that?’
“Because I was earning millions of dollars being the funny fat girl and being that person.”
The Bridesmaids actress received a lot of media attention after the initial weight loss.
She has since been very vocal about people focusing on her work rather than her appearance.
“Is that what a woman has to do in the world, lose weight to get attention?” she said.
“It’s fascinating, why are people so obsessed with it? Like, with women in particular about their looks?”
She added that she understands what it means to be a “non-traditionally beautiful” woman.
The star said she prefers to become the best and healthiest version of herself.
