Kim Kardashian broke down following comparisons to Kate Middleton in 2013, while pregnant with her first child North. At the time, the Duchess of Cambridge, now 39, was expecting her first child, Prince George.
In a new interview, Kim, 40, has criticised the treatment she received during her pregnancy.
The mum-of-four said unkind reports "brutalised" her while admitting that she did not enjoy being pregnant.
She made her comments while appearing on the We Are Supported By podcast with hosts Kristen Bell and Monica Padman.
"It was really, really crazy," Kim said of the magazine coverage at the time.

"They would always compare me to Kate Middleton so it would say, 'Kate the waif and Kim the whale, the waif versus the whale'.
"It was so nasty. I don't think that would really fly today, but it killed my self-esteem.
"I really can't believe that this was acceptable and that this was OK.
"But I would sit at home and cry all the time," she revealed.
Kim was diagnosed with pre-eclampsia while pregnant with her eldest daughter, now eight.
The condition can cause swelling in the hands, feet and face.
The reality TV star is also mum to Saint, five, Chicago, three, and Psalm, two, who she shares with estranged husband Kanye West.
Her youngest two children were born via surrogacy following complications during her first two pregnancies.

Despite their split, Kim has been supporting her ex amid the release of his new music.
The Skims founder dressed to impress in a black Balenciaga bodysuit as she took her kids to watch their father in action.
Kanye took to the stage to perform tracks from his 10th studio album Donda, named after his late mother Donda West.
Kim uploaded pictures to Instagram following the event at the weekend.
Alongside one snap, which showed the TV star in the skintight ensemble which covered her face, she simply wrote: "#DONDA #BALENCIAGA."
She completed her head-turning look with a pair of pointy high heels and a long plait.
Additional pictures, which she shared with her 243 million followers, showed her children in coordinating all-black outfits.
