Lucy Verasamy: ‘One to watch’ ITV weather presenter makes shock summer prediction
LUCY VERASAMY, who regularly presents the weather forecast on ITV and Good Morning Britain, has taken to Twitter to make a very surprising prediction as temperatures are set to rise across the UK.
UK weather: Lucy Verasamy warns of 'downhill' spells for Britain
Lucy Verasamy, 38, updated her fans on Twitter about the upcoming weather in the UK and said it will be “one to watch”. The ITV weather star retweeted a post which indicated temperatures are set to rise across western Europe in the coming days. In view of her 161,000 followers, Lucy penned: “A repeat of the intense heat we had end of June? Possibly. “Next week is one to watch. Focus on Europe and southern Britain.”
Fans rushed to comment on the post with some opinions divided about the weather ahead.
One person said: “Urgh…give me winter!”
Another person commented: “What intense heat, we had one day in Kent that was about 30 degrees.”
While a third person excitedly said: “I’ll be at the beach,” while another person added: “Can’t wait."
Lucy’s prediction comes after she reposted a message from the Metropolitan Desk which suggested Western Europe is set to experience record breaking heat.
The post read: “Latest CMWF going for potentially more record breaking heat in Western Europe next week.
“The details will naturally change over the coming days but the signal for very hot weather is growing.”
Lucy said: “Into Thursday it’s a cheerful scene. Some lovely sunshine across the board, some hit and miss showers could be hefty across central and eastern areas but a good deal of fine dry weather.
“And temperatures doing quite well again with highs of 25 degrees.”
Elsewhere, the ITV favourite took to Instagram where she revealed a certain work colleague “knows her so well".
The brunette beauty took to her stories and shared a post of a special treat she was gifted from an unnamed person.
Lucy shared a photo of Astronaut Ice Cream Sandwich, which she captioned: “A work colleague bought this for me - they know me so well.”
She seemingly appeared to be getting a head start on the celebrations of the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 Moon Landing.
The weather forecaster recently tweeted: "Feeling toasty today - temperatures rising in the strong July sunshine 24-27C.
“A beautiful summer evening ahead and staying warm - with a full moon tonight #MoonLanding50.”
