Cameron Boyce has died at the age of 20.
The young actor, who found fame on the Disney Channel playing Luke Ross in Jessie and then Carlos in Descendants, died peacefully in his sleep, his family confirmed.
A family spokesman told ABC News: “It is with a profoundly heavy heart that we report that this morning we lost Cameron.
“He passed away in his sleep due to a seizure which was a result of an ongoing medical condition for which he was being treated.”
The Disney star landed his first acting role at the age of nine starring in 2008 supernatural horror film Mirrors.
In the same year he also appeared in action thriller Eagle Eye and then went on to play Adam Sandler’s son Keith Feder in the 2010 movie Grown Ups and reprised the role in the sequel three years later.
However, it was a guest appearance on kids TV show Good Luck Charlie which led to his successful run on the Disney Channel.
Before his death, Cameron reprised his role of Carlos, the son of Cruella De Vil, and filmed scenes for Descendants 3 which was due to be released next month on August 2.
The actor’s family have asked for privacy during this difficult time of mourning and said: “The world is now undoubtedly without one of its brightest lights, but his spirit will live on through the kindness and compassion of all who knew and loved him.”
