Good Morning Britain star Lucy Verasamy, 38, said she followed a strict diet but “went too far” and decided to change her eating ways a few years back. The brunette beauty told Daily Express she tucked into “protein, healthy fats and greens”, adding: “If ever had a carbohydrate it would be quinoa or sweet potato. “Without even knowing it I got into a mindset and I went too far. “I lost too much weight and it didn’t look very healthy.”

The star’s brother noticed Lucy’s slimmed-down frame after being away for a year and told her ‘You look really thin, you’ve lost too much weight’.
She said: “He doesn’t beat around the bush. That’s when it struck me; life is too short for clean eating.”
Lucy insisted her former disciplined diet was to look her best in front of the camera.
She added: “I’ve got no excuses not to try to look the best I can, being on screen.”
Speaking in the interview last year, she said she sought advice from a nutritionist and now follows a healthy balanced diet.
But the weather forecaster isn’t afraid to tuck into her guilty pleasures consisting of bread and biscuits.
She told Now Magazine: “If I’m out for dinner, freshly baked bread with salted butter or olive oil & balsamic.
“I’m easily led when it comes to biscuits; it’s a slippery slope. Someone usually has a secret stash in the newsroom.”
Meanwhile, Lucy regularly showcases her sensational physique on her Instagram page.
The ITV star recently demonstrated a yoga move, giving fans an insight into her fitness routine.
She showed off her core strength standing on her toes and holding her leg in the air.
Lucy uploaded the picture in view of her 87,000 with the caption: “Amateur moves/morning stretches.”
Her impressive efforts received a mass of compliments from her social media fans.
One user wrote: “Wow u look amazing Lucy.”
A second added: “You look so graceful.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
