Man travels to Gran Canaria – but something unexpected ruins his holiday
A man has issued a warning to holidaymakers looking to jet off to Gran Canaria after his break was ruined by the weather.

There's nothing quite like the thrill of embarking on a well-deserved holiday.
The mere thought of basking in the warm sunshine, feeling the gentle grains of sand between your toes and sipping a refreshing cocktail is enough to melt away the stresses of everyday life.
However, one man's recent getaway didn't quite live up to his sun-kissed expectations, and it was all due to the unpredictable weather. Claudio Herbert, who goes by the username claudiox35 on TikTok, revealed that his trip to Gran Canaria was met with cloudy skies "99% of the time".
Despite our best-laid plans, sometimes things just don't go as smoothly as we'd like. Claudio shared a humorous video on TikTok, showcasing the gloomy weather that greeted him on his holiday.
The clip, which has garnered hundreds of likes, features Claudio's witty remark: "If you're planning on coming to Gran Canaria for nice weather... don't."
The comments section was flooded with responses from users who shared their own vastly different experiences at the popular holiday destination.
One user quipped: "Looks like someone went at the wrong time."
Another commiserated: "I've been here for a week, and had like three hours of sun. Maybe we should go for a drink instead of the beach."
Meanwhile, others reported having a vastly different experience, with one user saying: "Weather has been lovely. We're in Gran Canaria."
Another user, who was also currently in Gran Canaria, chimed in with: "I'm here now - weather is scorchio."
Deciding on the best time to visit Gran Canaria really hinges on what you're looking to achieve from your getaway. Those in pursuit of winter sun will find November through to February ideal for basking in the rays, as it's perfect for both sightseeing and hiking, with seas that are invitingly warm for a dip.
Spring emerges as a prime season for those keen to delve into the island's natural splendour, offering mild temperatures and a plethora of outdoor activities to immerse yourself in.
For families seeking a blend of warmth and aquatic adventures, the period from April to September is touted as "perfect", boasting balmy weather conducive to water sports. In general, the winter months are recommended for travellers who prefer to soak up the sun without the peak season crowds.
