Teams of chefs have been working with other culinary experts and suppliers to refresh classic dishes and the old favourites served on board.
“At Cunard, we pride ourselves in delivering a culinary experience that continuously exceeds guest expectations and illustrates Cunard’s utmost attention to detail,” said Angus Struthers, Marketing Director, Cunard.
“We are pleased to debut refreshed culinary offerings on Queen Mary 2 Remastered, which we have created to appeal to the most discerning guests while revitalising classic dishes and creating new ones.”
There will also be new Queens and Princess Grill menus and completely refurbished restaurants for guests
Queen Mary 2’s 25-day major refit takes place from May 27 to June 21 in Hamburg, Germany, and will see the creation of the entirely new Carinthia Lounge, which will serve alternative breakfast and lunchtime offerings together with premium coffees.
The Verandah restaurant, evoking memories of the famous Grill on the original Queen Mary, will be added and the Kings Court Buffet is to be completely transformed.
The kitchen will develop 100 dishes for the Queen Mary 2
There will also be new Queens and Princess Grill menus and completely refurbished restaurants for guests staying in Queens and Princess Grill suites plus a new Smokehouse alternative dining concept.
Menus for the existing Britannia Restaurant and Golden Lion pub, together with Cunard’s famous Afternoon Tea selection served in the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Bar, will all be refreshed.
The refit will take 25 days
The Verandah restaurant on Cunard’s two other ships, Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth, will also have new menu items introduced through 2016.
Queen Mary 2’s first cruise after the Remastered launch – a 20-night Grand Transatlantic, Canada and New England – has completely sold out but its 2018 World Cruise has now gone on sale.
The new menu items will be introduce throughout 2016
The 120-night round-trip from Southampton includes 45 calls of port in 23 countries with maiden calls in Dunedin and Tauranga in New Zealand.
The cruise circumnavigates Australia, New Zealand and navigates Asia and the Suez Canal, with overnight stays in Cape Town, Hong Kong and Dubai.
