The booking site’s data found that those who bought their tickets on Monday saved 5 per cent more than those who booked on Saturday, the most expensive day.
This could make a big difference, especially for someone looking to take a family long haul.
Or a Quantas flight to Australia for around £1,400 could be £70 cheaper.

However, the cheapest day to fly is different to the cheapest day to book, and is in fact five days later.
Skyscanner said: “Conventional wisdom has long held that the cheapest fares are for Tuesday or Wednesday departures. But our research turns this ‘fly midweek’ wisdom on its head.”
The research for the cheapest day to leave the UK is Friday, in time for a weekend trip. This could afford you saving of 18 per cent.
However, a Sunday is the most expensive day to travel by air on.

Another cheap flights trick has revealed how you can always pay the least expensive fare whenever you fly.
Savings experts have revealed that you can get a refund if tickets go on sale after you have bought them.
They told Business Insider UK: “If you buy a flight and it goes on sale, airlines can refund you.
“Yapta lets you input your flight details to be alerted when you're eligible for a refund.”
Another travel expert has recommended booking at one certain time to get the cheap flights.
