Why hotels could no longer have wardrobes, desks or MINI BARS
HOTELS could remove mini bars, wardrobes and desks as holidaymakers change the way they travel.
Hotels are wanting to remove to mini bars and wardrobes as the future generation change
One of the best parts of staying in a hotel room is checking to see what is in the mini bar.
However, this could all change as hotels reinvent the amenities on offer to keep with the growing traveller trends.
Mini bars, desks and wardrobes are all things that could soon be in the past.
TripAdvisor even found that 20 per cent of people felt that the mini bar is the least important part of a hotel room.
Hotels such as Hilton, Starwood and Marriott are all just some of the chains that have decided to remove the in-room mini bar.
Some of the reasons are because people just don’t use them as the high cost of the food can put travellers off.
Of course, whilst some travellers enjoy have an expensive refreshment, they can still head down to the bar or order room service.
Melvin Gold, a leading hotel industry consultant told The Independent, “Minibars were once a source of profit, but they were just too difficult to police. Prices were high because staffing costs were high."
Minibars are no longer seen as important to travellers
Business travellers are more reliant on technology now, meaning fewer documents
Desks and wardrobes are also on the list to be knocked off.
Business travellers are more reliant on technology now, meaning fewer documents and work therefore eradicating the need for the desk.
Travellers also are less likely to unpack their suitcases, leaving them empty for the most part of their trip.
Whilst they may seem like unnecessary steps, they can also create much more room for guests to utilise.

Hotels are changing and removing minibars to change from the old times
Of course, some hotels are beyond the norm.
The recent trend for holidaymakers is to stay in a treehouse with a 20 per cent rise in requests.
Travellers should also be aware when it comes to booking hotels for scams.
Using cheap websites could end up with a fake booking leaving them out of pocket.
