Birmingham Airport is improving its passenger drop-off facilities, which is set to be completed in time for the peak summer season.
It is part of £100 million revamp program of the transport hub as a whole.
The roadworks are due to begin in March and will see passengers facing weeks of disruption.
Lane one in Airport Way, between Bird Island roundabout and Hermes roundabout, will be closed until May 19.

Lane one in Concorde Road, between Hermes roundabout and the Drop and Go exit will be closed between March 13 and April 29.
During the improvement works, the footpath and cycleway will also be closed in Airport Way.
Pedestrians and cyclists will be diverted through the airport’s car park five.

In a statement to Coventry Telegraph, the airport said: “We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.”
The drop-off area is just one part of Birmingham Airport that is being renovated.
The airport announced in September last year that they will be replacing the hold baggage screening system with the latest x-ray technology.
Highways England also launched a consultation in December on plans to upgrade M42 junction six, which serves as the main access to the airport.
