AUSTRALIA’S famous national park in Uluru was forced to close after torrential rain turned the red banks into a series of waterfalls.

Heavy rain swamped Uluru in Australia and video footage captures the moment the massive red sandstones became a waterfall.
Uluru is located in the Northern Territory’s barren “Red Centre” of Australia.
It is well-know for its striking red colour and size - which is taller than the Eiffel Tower.
It is also sacred to the traditional Aboriginal owners, Anangu.

The Bureau of Meteorology described the scenes as a one-in-fifty-year event
But it is not know for rain, let alone a downpour.
However, torrential rain swept across Uluru on Christmas day and caused temporary waterfalls on its banks.
The video shows the water pouring down the red domes and sides and forming a pool at the bottom.

The Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park in Australia was closed on Monday
The downpour forced the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to close its doors to visitors.
According to Parks Australia, it said this was due to “an extreme weather event”.
The park was reopened on Tuesday.
The story comes after an a man got the shock of his life when opened the door to his room to find a koala staring back at him.
Experts described the scenes as a one-in-fifty-year event
One of the more unlikely house guests decided to drop in on this Australian home.
The cuddly koala’s break and enter has all been caught on camera.
In a video that’s gone viral since it was shared online, the grey marsupial can be seen sitting on the timber floor of the hallway.
The man filming has stepped outside of his room to discover the strange sight.
