Walk on water along THIS floating pier
GLIDE along this silk boardwalk in Italy’s Lake Iseo.
The photogenic view has people snapping away
This summer, you can walk on water, and live to tell the tale at Italy’s latest work of art in beautiful Lake Iseo.
“The Floating Piers”, an art installation, by Bulgarian born artist Christo Vladimirov Yavachev, is wowing tourists impressed with it’s photogenic appeal.
Opened recently, the tourist attraction has proved so popular that it now needs nightly repairs due to the sheer volume of people walking along it daily.
Located in Northern Italy, the hot-spot is garnering some much needed attention to the little known area, which has gone from a relative unknown to a superstar in the space of a few weeks.
The walkway has already attracted so many people it's in need of nightly repairs
The artist, known only as Christo, created “The Floating Piers” after conceiving the idea with his late partner, who died back in 2009.
The work of art, which is free to the public, is contracted of 220,000 floating cubes covered in saffron coloured silk.
The publics free movement on the delicate boardwalk has run into a little hiccup though, as so many people are enjoying it that it now has to be closed for maintenance at 6pm every evening.
Regardless of this minor bump in the road, the floating walkway has proved popular on Instagram, with tourists shooting the stunning work of art against the beautiful backdrop of Italy.

It connects the village of Sulzano to the island of Monte Isola, both largely unknown destinations for tourists.
The artist has previously created artwork in New York and Berlin, and describes his current project as: “"walking on the back of a whale”.
Self financed, the project is estimated to have cost Christo approximately €15 million euros.
