WATCH: Explosive video of volcanic ERUPTION creating a whole new ISLAND
THE dramatic footage of the 2013 eruption has been watched by millions on YouTube.
A new ISLAND has formed after a volcano ERRUPTED
A new island was created after the volcanic eruption in the sea, just 1,000 km to the south of Tokyo.
The island is now celebrating being three years old but at the time the creation shook a local coastguard who spotted smoke from the middle of the ocean.
It was just an average Wednesday morning on 20 November 2013, nothing much was happening.
That was until Japan's coast guard issued a warning about smoke rising from the sea.
Footage of this volcanic eruption from '13 has been doing the rounds online
It appeared in the sea next to Nishino Shima island
Footage, filmed by the coast guard, shows the new island in all its glory that morning.
It appeared in the sea next to Nishino Shima island, and measured around 200 metres across.
The lava and flames spread up to the sky for miles and miles, and a smoke tunnel was visible from the sky.
It's believed the island - since erupting back in 2013 - has grown more than 11 times in size.

The footage comes just days after the Sinabung volcano on the Indonesian island of Sumatra was seen with lava spewing from its tip.
The violent eruption was caught on camera earlier this month, and came just three days after the same volcano exploded twice just days prior
The 2,460-metre spectacle has been under a high risk warning since 2010, but officials fear the blasts are becoming bigger and more frequent.
