Europe's 'best' theme park is 175-year-old gem in middle of pretty city
This antique theme park is located in one of Europe's most popular capital cities, and it's not at all far from the UK.
Copenhagen has long been a favourite travel destination for Brits. The capital of Denmark is known for its stylish residents, historic charm, and thriving arts and culture.
The European city is also home to the amazing Tivoli Gardens, the theme park that famously inspired Walt Disney when he was searching for inspiration before launching Disneyland.
The park has been going for more than 175 years, becoming a huge tourist attraction for Denmark.
The famous attraction was opened by Georg Cartensen in 1843, and among the visitors was the brilliant Little Mermaid author Hans Christian Anderson. The gardens are said to have inspired him to write the fairy tale The Nightingale.
Tivoli Gardens is home to one of the world's oldest roller coasters. Built in 1914, the ride is still in operation today and it’s one of only seven attractions in the world to be operated by a brakeman on each train.
The fascinating historical aspect of the park is one of the things that drives so many visitors to it each year, as well as its many unique entertainment options. During the summer, you can catch a host of Danish rock bands performing on Tivoli’s open open-air Plænen stage - for free.
There are numerous entertainment venues inside the complex. Another famous one is the open-air Pantomime Theatre, built in 1874, which features performances by international symphony orchestras, ballet troupes, and popular musicians.
As for the rides, the park is home to thrilling roller coasters as well as some tamer attractions for little ones and people who prefer something less extreme.

Tivoli Gardens is known worldwide, and just one month ago the park was visited by actors Bradley Cooper, Matt Damon, and Jeremy Strong for a day out with their children - as reported by the Daily Mail.
It will soon be getting ready for its spooky Halloween season, which it's been celebrating since 2007.
