A rainy start to spring in the UK has got many Britons dreaming of relocating abroad. The best destination for British expats is a charming European capital.
Since many Britons have gained the ability to work from home, remote working from a foreign city as an expat has become a realistic option. A new study from Instant Offices has found the best cities in the world for digital nomads.

Lisbon, the beautiful capital city of Portugal, was named the best city in the world for British digital nomads.
The team looked at the cost of living in each destination as well as the weather, WIFI connectivity and quality of life.
Lisbon is one of Europe’s sunniest cities and is a foodie hotspot with plenty of local markets to explore.
British expats will find it easy to stay fit in the Portuguese capital as the city is also one of Europe’s hilliest.

One of Lisbon’s top-rated Tripadvisor attractions is the Miradouro da Senhora do Monte, a viewpoint offering incredible city views.
A tourist, ‘Spyros T’, said: “Amazing view, probably the best one around Lisbon. You can see almost the whole city and the port.”
British expats will be able to choose from several neighbourhoods to settle in. The Bairro Alto is the home of Lisbon’s best nightlife while the Alfama is the best place to hear traditional fado music.
According to Instant Offices research, the city also has a whopping 7,000 WIFI hotspots and fast broadband, ideal for remote working.

Outside of Europe, Bangkok took second place in the rankings. The Thai capital is another gourmet destination with some of the world’s best street food.
British expats will be able to live far more cheaply in the Thai capital and the price of accommodation is generally much lower than in the UK.
Asia was home to many of the list’s best-rated spots, including Seoul, Delhi, Ho Chi Minch and Jarkarta.
According to the research, many digital nomads work in creative industries or in digital marketing and computer science.
