The high-speed rail offering allows passengers the opportunity to journey from London’s St Pancras station right to the heart of their chosen city, eliminating the need for airport connections or additional travel arrangements.
Furthermore, for eco-aware travellers, long-distance rail travel could be the perfect way to reduce your carbon footprint.
In a time when the environmental impact of air travel has been under scrutiny, Eurostar conducted their own research to see just how much of a CO2 reduction train journeys can offer.
The independent research commissioned by the train line assessed the CO2 per passenger produced by a London to Paris Eurostar journey compared to a matching flight.
The research took into account passenger loadings and power consumption, as well as how Eurostar’s electricity is generated.
According to the experts, passengers can cut CO2 emissions by a staggering 90 percent per person by opting for rail travel.
Meanwhile, Eurostar also works with partner hotels offering discounts on selected stays for passengers.
Customers also opt for Standard Premier tickets from £70 and enjoy more space on board, a light meal and refreshments during their journey.
At the time of writing Eurostar will be running their typical schedule in the coming months.
The news comes after a difficult winter period for the tramline which was forced to pull some of its usual journeys due to industrial strike action in France.
Eurostar’s reduced scheduling ran until 11 January, however, there has been no further update on additional strike disruption.
Customers with travel plans in the coming days can check if their journey is affected on the Eurostar website, and are given the opportunity to reschedule free of charge if so.
