The four-time world champion was forced to retire in 2016 after a series of concussions took a huge toll on his health.
Many fans expected to see the ex-WWE Champion involved in dream matches against the brightest WWE superstars.
However, The Beard was immediately placed in a lacklustre feud with the returning Big Cass and failed twice to qualify for the Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

According to PWStream, Vince McMahon’s promotion still have no vision for the fan favourite because he has yet to put pen to paper on a new contract.
The company are tentative with their plans for him moving forward as they are not sure if he will stay after the summer.
According to Give Me Sport, Bryan recently told Chris Jericho in his podcast Talk is Jericho that his contract expires on September 1.
Fans are very keen to see the former Intercontinental Champion lock up with long-time rival The Miz, following the latter’s return to Smackdown.
The two men go way back since 2010 when Bryan joined WWE and was mentored by The A-Lister on NXT.
Their rivalry led to a match at Night of Champions that saw The Leader of the YES Movement beating The Miz for the US Championship.
Six years later the two former world champions revived their feud with a heated argument on Talking Smack when Bryan accused the then Intercontinental Champion of wrestling like a coward.
The Miz would go on to mock the WWE legend by performing his signature kicks during matches.
The two Smackdown stars faced off in a live event recently and stole the show.
Rumours suggest their next bout might take place at WrestleMania.
