Kurt Angle reveals reason why John Cena is the greatest WWE superstar of all time
KURT ANGLE claims John Cena is the greatest ever WWE legend because of his consistency.
John Cena returns to WWE after Bumblebee premiere
The two wrestling heroes have a lot of history with each other as Cena’s first ever match on the WWE roster was a losing effort against Angle in 2002.
The Champ and the 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist went on to face each other many times in the mid-2000s and mainly feuded over the WWE Championship.
Angle always knew that The Leader of the Cenation was special and watched him become a 16-time world champion as well as the face of Vince McMahon’s promotion.
The Olympic Hero sent Cena a special belated birthday wish on Instagram as he remembered a match they had at No Mercy 2003 - which the Olympian won.
John has been able to stay healthy (for the most part) and dominate WWE for 17 years, which is unheard of, and nearly impossible
The six-time world champion always knew that the wrestler-turned actor would go on to enjoy a glittering career and now considers him to be the greatest wrestler of all time because he managed to stay healthy, with very short injury breaks, and dominate the competition for an unprecedented 17 years.
Angle posted: “17 years ago, I recall when a young John Cena took WWE by storm.
“Even then, John pushed me to my limit.
“I absolutely Loved stepping into the ring with him.
“John has been able to stay healthy (for the most part) and dominate WWE for 17 years, which is unheard of, and nearly impossible.
“For that reason, He will go down in history as the most consistent, and the Greatest WWE Superstar of all time.
“Happy belated birthday John.
“You earned my respect the first time we locked horns. #itstrue #wwe #wrestling #wordlife #rappercena.”
Rumours suggested Angle would face Cena at WrestleMania 35 in his retirement match.
However, the bout never happened and instead the ex-WWE Champion lost to Baron Corbin.
