Nikki Bella explains why she retired from WWE and teases one last wrestling run
NIKKI BELLA revealed that she retired from WWE in order to focus on her companies, but hinted at the possibility of one last run.
Nikki Bella admits she is DONE following defeat to Rousey
Bella decided to end her in-ring career on March after an 11-year on-and-off stint in Vince McMahon’s promotion.
The two-time women’s champion’s most recent run with the wrestling giants saw her teaming up with her twin sister Brie and taking on Ronda Rousey for the RAW Women’s Championship at WWE’s first ever all-women’s Pay-Per-View event Evolution.
But, according to Wrestling Inc, the abuse her body endured and the fact she had to juggle her clothing and beauty line as well as her reality show made her decide to hang up her wrestling boots.
The ex-Divas Champion confirmed that she is indeed retired but pointed out that in WWE the doors “are truly never closed”.
I need to put more focus on my companies, so honestly, that was the reason why I retired
Bella said during The Bellas Podcast: "Having that comeback, filming Total Bellas, running three companies and then fighting Ronda Rousey and beating up my body…
“I just remember when we were sitting there on our 35th birthday.
“I just sat there and said to myself that I was done.
“I started thinking about my health and my age.
“I need to put more focus on my companies, so honestly, that was the reason why I retired.
“This is the thing about WWE though; the doors are truly never closed.
"So, I am retired.
"I just feel like now is my time to see what I can grow Nikki Bella into and where else she can go.
“How far can she grow companies?
“I want Nikki Bella to be on the cover of Forbes Magazine and then 50 Cent can Facebook about that with a smile on his face."
