WWE TLC PREDICTIONS: Will Ronda Rousey lose? Can Becky Lynch retain? New champion
TLC emanates this Sunday at the SAP Center in San Jose, California with a series of intense matches.
WWE: Lynch takes exception to reporter's Rousey merchandise
RAW and Smackdown will battle with tables, ladders and chairs throughout the brutal Pay-Per-View event and most champions will be putting their title on the line.
Becky Lynch will defend the Smackdown Women’s Championship in a Triple Threat TLC Match against Charlotte Flair and Asuka in what could be the main event of the night.
Acting RAW General Manager Baron Corbin is still scheduled to battle Braun Strowman in a TLC Match as well even though The Monster Among Men recently underwent elbow surgery.
If Corbin wins he will be appointed the full-time RAW GM but a victory for Strowman would make him the No1 Contender for Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble.
But who will emerge victorious at TLC? Check out our predictions below for more:
R-Truth & Carmella vs Jinder Mahal & Alicia Fox (Finals of MMC Season 2)
R-Truth and Carmella are one of the most entertaining duos in all of WWE thanks mostly to their seven-minute dance breaks.
WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon seems so impressed that he decided to come out and dance with them on Smackdown 1000.
Their work should be rewarded at TLC where they could beat Alicia Fox and Jinder Mahal.
Winners: R-Truth & Carmella
Rey Mysterio vs Randy Orton (Chairs Match)
Randy Orton has continued his mean streak and after bludgeoning Jeff Hardy and Tye Dillinger he is now targeting Rey Mysterio.
Orton has launched several sick attacks on Mysterio but The Master of the 619 got some revenge last Tuesday night on SmackDown.
The Viper needs the momentum for his gimmick and a win would be valuable ahead of WrestleMania 35, where he could battle AJ Styles.
Winner: Randy Orton
WWE Cruiserweight Champion Buddy Murphy vs Cedric Alexander
Buddy Murphy won the Cruiserweight Championship in his hometown of Melbourne, Australia at WWE Super Show-Down from Cedric Alexander.
It is way too early to end Murphy’s title reign so he should be the favourite ahead of TLC.
Winner: Buddy Murphy
Elias vs Bobby Lashley (Ladder Match)
Elias and Bobby Lashley will battle in a Ladder Match that will see a guitar hanging high above the ring.
Whoever unhooks it first will be able to use it as a weapon against his opponent.
The Drifter suffered an embarrassing defeat to Lashley’s manager Lio Rush last week on RAW but that humiliation could lead to a big victory over The Almighty.
Winner: Elias
Finn Balor vs Drew McIntyre
Drew McIntyre is being pushed to the top of WWE ever since he ended his association with Dolph Ziggler.
Rumours suggest McIntyre is also the favourite to win the Men’s Royal Rumble Match next year.
Therefore, The Scottish Terminator is the obvious favourite for this bout.
Winner: Drew McIntyre
Natalya vs Ruby Riott (Tables Match)
Ruby Riott has been disrespecting Natalya’s late father and wrestling legend Jim ‘The Anvil’ Neidhart for months.
The ex-NXT superstar will use the help of her Riott Squad team-mates Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan but Natalya could still be able to pick up the victory.
Fans should expect a probable miscommunication between The Riott Squad that could see their leader crashing through a table.
Winner: Natalya
WWE: Ronda Rousey pays tribute to Roman Reigns during match
The Bar vs The New Day vs The Usos (SmackDown Tag Team Title Triple Threat Match)
Sheamus and Cesaro are set for their toughest title defence of their reign so far as they will battle Jimmy and Jey Uso as well as Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Big E.
The Bar’s title reign is still fresh and it wouldn’t make sense to have them drop the titles so soon.
The former RAW Tag Team Champions have proven to be very entertaining as well and got a lot more to offer as champions.
Winners: The Bar
Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins vs Dean Ambrose
Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins’ friendship has come to an end and they have now been embroiled in an intense war.
Rollins has proven to be an incredible champion but WWE needs to make Ambrose’s heel character look legit.
Therefore, it would make more sense to have The Lunatic Fringe win on Sunday.
Winner: Dean Ambrose
WWE Champion Daniel Bryan vs AJ Styles
This match could indeed steal the show as the two wrestling legends have put together some absolute masterpieces on SmackDown against each other.
Daniel Bryan has abandoned The YES Movement as well as his millions of fans but his new mean streak has given him an exciting new character.
The New Daniel Bryan’s reign will continue after TLC and so could his rivalry with Styles - that doesn’t mean we won’t have a count-out or DQ finish.
Winner: Daniel Bryan
Braun Strowman makes intimidating entrance on Raw
Braun Strowman vs Baron Corbin (Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match)
Braun Strowman underwent surgery recently and so he may not even be able to compete on Sunday.
Rumours even suggest that he will be replaced by former mentor Bray Wyatt who will come back to beat Baron Corbin the same way he did at Starrcade.
However, WWE have been teasing a match between Strowman and Brock Lesnar for months so as things stand we consider The Monster Among Men as the likely winner.
According to reports, the ex-RAW Tag Team Champion may not be fit enough and that is why he may just destroy The Lone Wolf and pick up a quick victory.
Winner: Braun Strowman
Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey vs Nia Jax
Ronda Rousey is arguably WWE’s biggest attraction and will remain the same until WrestleMania next year on April 7 at the MetLife Stadium in New York.
Rousey is likely to extend her undefeated streak at TLC as it will have more prestige heading to WrestleMania where she will face more credible opponents like Charlotte Flair or Becky Lynch.
That is why it would make sense to have The Baddest Women on the Planet pick up the win over Jax.
Winner: Ronda Rousey
SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch vs Charlotte Flair vs Asuka (Triple Threat TLC Match)
Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair are linked with a WrestleMania match against Ronda Rousey.
The two SmackDown superstars are also the two favourites to win the Women’s Royal Rumble Match next year.
All the speculation points to a probable defeat for both former NXT superstars and so does the ending of last Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown.
Asuka destroyed both of her opponents with a kendo stick and presented herself as the biggest threat heading to TLC.
The Smackdown Women’s Championship would probably stand in the way of Lynch and Charlotte ahead of a Mania match against Rousey.
That is why Asuka poses as a serious contender to win the match.
Winner: Asuka
