WWE news: Chris Jericho pitched AWESOME SummerSlam dream match against top RAW star
CHRIS JERICHO revealed that he tried pitching an inter-promotional Intercontinental Champion vs Intercontinental Champion match against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam.
Jericho has been working with New Japan Pro-Wrestling and became the IWGP Intercontinental Champion when he beat Tetsuya Naito at Dominion 6.9 two months ago.
According to Wrestling Inc, Y2J said during an edition of Talk Is Jericho that he pitched the idea of coming back for one more match to face WWE’s Intercontinental Champion at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
The first ever WWE Undisputed Champion said: "I placed a call to a certain head of a certain wrestling company, let's just leave it at that.
"I said I've got something for you. It's boffo box office. I said, what do you think about first-time Intercontinental Champion vs Intercontinental Champion Jericho vs Rollins?"

Jericho planned on being at the last episode of RAW before SummerSlam last week and thought it would be a good idea to attack Rollins to set up the dream match.
The six-time world champion also thought the match should have ended with some outside interference that would cause a disqualification.
Even though his idea got some some decent responses, the plans never took flight and Rollins faced Dolph Ziggler for the title instead.
Ziggler was the champion before SummerSlam as he won the belt from Rollins two months ago on RAW.
The Architect regained the gold at SummerSlam thanks to a little help from his Shield team-mate Dean Ambrose who had finally returned from an arm injury that ruled him out for eight months.
Ambrose took out the former champion’s associate Drew McIntyre and then Rollins hit The Show-Off with a Curb Stomp for the pin.
The Lunatic Fringe and The Kingslayer have now reformed The Shield with Roman Reigns and are set for a dominant run on RAW.
Jericho’s last WWE appearance took place at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Saudi Arabia last April where he competed in the first ever 50-man over-the-top-rope-battle royal.
The ex-WWE Champion has been very active in Japan where he also faced IWGP Heavyweight Champion Kenny Omega in an amazing match at Wrestle Kingdom 12.
The former World heavyweight Champion has also experienced success outside of the wrestling world with his heavy metal band Fozzy.
His autobiography books A Lion's Tale: Around the World in Spandex, Undisputed: How to Become World Champion in 1,372 Easy Steps, The Best in the World: At What I Have No Idea and No Is a Four-Letter Word: How I Failed Spelling but Succeeded in Life also made him a bestselling author.
