Conor McGregor: Notorious sends chilling message to Khabib as grudge match is confirmed
CONOR MCGREGOR has seemingly sent a warning to Khabib Nurmagomedov on Instagram.
McGregor will meet his successor at the summit of the lightweight division, who many believe is the most feared fighter on the UFC roster, in the main event of UFC 229 on October 6.
The pair are eager to get their hands on one another, with the latter recently vowing to permanently disfigure the UFC’s poster boy.
And shortly after claiming his long-awaited return to the Octagon is ‘close’, McGregor has seemingly sent his own chilling message to the Dagestan native.
Earlier this week, ‘The Notorious’ posted a picture of himself and his training partner Dillon Danis to his Instagram and Twitter pages.
The accompanying caption read: “Your skull or your limbs."
Nurmagomedov vs McGregor will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, the venue for the Irishman's unsuccessful boxing match against Floyd Mayweather Jr.
However, less than 48 hours before the announcement, Nurmagomedov seemingly threw a spanner into the works by demanding a new bumper contract from the UFC brass.
Your skull or your limbs
“Interesting situation, if they want to make money fight, they have to pay me too,” ‘The Eagle’ told freelance reporter Adam Glyn.
“I’m not going to give them a chance to use my name and have Conor make money and the UFC make money and I make $200,000 (£153,000). No way.
“If they want me to fight like my current contract, I can fight. But okay give me (Dustin) Poirier. I’m going to follow my contract.
“But if they want to use my name and use me to make money, Conor and the UFC, no way.”
He added: “They want to use me? I’m the undefeated, undisputed UFC lightweight champion.
"I don’t need him. He need me. He’s like 2-2 (in his last four fights). He don’t fight (MMA) two years.
"He don’t deserve this type of shot. Dustin.
"He don’t deserve this type of shot. Dustin Poirier is (in line). He deserve this.
“If they want to use me and make a lot of millions, use my name, no way. They want a money fight? Please pay me.”
