Conor McGregor update from Dana White as Khabib makes worrying statement for Notorious
CONOR MCGREGOR - Express Sport brings you the latest headlines on the former UFC lightweight champion.
Conor McGregor fight negotiations denied by Dana White
Conor McGregor is not in talks with the UFC brass over his long-awaited return to the Octagon, according to the promotion's president Dana White.
"No, we're not (in talks with Conor McGregor)," White told Yahoo Sports' Kevin Iole. "But we have been talking. We've been talking since before the incident happened.
"It's funny because that's one of the things I said too. I said, 'Listen, after Conor makes this money with Floyd, he may never fight again.' And he hasn't.
“He hasn't fought since that fight. I know he wants to. I know Conor is anxious to fight.
"And, you know, we've got to get through this thing in July. But no, no talks are going on right now."

Conor McGregor not only the fighter on Khabib Nurmagomedov's radar
Khabib Nurmagomedov has revealed he's eyeing a fight with Georges St-Pierre or the winner of Dustin Poirier vs Eddie Alvarez if a bout with McGregor fails to materialise.
“If not Conor, if not GSP [Georges St-Pierre], I think the winner of Eddie Alvarez versus Dustin Poirier. The winner deserves a title shot," he said during the latest episode of Anatomy of a Fighter.
He added: "About [former interim champion] Tony Ferguson, I don’t know.
"He has surgery but if he can [fight], why not? Tony Ferguson is the biggest match-up for me. It is the match I want… I don’t know if he is healthy but if he is, why not?”

Conor McGregor's coach predicts Khabib Nurmagomedov fight
McGregor's head coach John Kavanagh is confident 'The Notorious' can shock the world and KO Nurmagomedov, his successor at the summit of the UFC's lightweight division.
"It's a cliche to say, but it's a classic striker versus grappler," Kavanagh told ESPN.
"Khabib needs to get into that clinch, join his hands and start chaining his takedowns together. Obviously, we need to try and prevent that.
"I think a lot of people are so afraid of Khabib's grappling, they don't engage with him. Conor is a good grappler. I know that will get a lot of people upset when I say that, but watch his fights.
“There's plenty of evidence to support that claim. I'm feeling and he's feeling confident, wherever the fight goes. But [the left hand] will be the difference in the fight."
