UFC News - Conor McGregor drops return bombshell
Former UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor has claimed he was going to make his long-awaited return to the Octagon at UFC 224 before his rampage at the UFC 223 media day.
While discussing his placing on Forbes’ Highest-Paid Athletes list on Instagram, McGregor said: “Made it to number 4 on the Forbes list this year.
"If I had of fought on the agreed May 12th bout in Rio De Janeiro, I would have surpassed Ronaldo and Messi to take 2nd place.
“Something came up however... Ah well, still under 30.”
There is a decision coming and it’s hopefully sooner rather than later
Jon Jones USADA punishment forthcoming
Jon Jones' manager Abe Kawa has claimed the United States Anti-Doping Agency will soon announce the former UFC light-heavyweight champion's punishment for his failed drug test ahead of his grudge match with Daniel Cormier.
“It’s complicated,” Kawa told MMA Fighting. “USADA does a very good job.
“People are banging on them and hating on them. There’s things I do not agree with USADA. I’ve told them behind closed doors things I don’t agree with.
"But USADA does a very good job. They’ve done a very good job cleaning up the sport.
“It’s imperative that they get this right. It’s imperative that they get this case right, because of who Jon is. And I think they’re doing the best they can to get it right.
“With that being said, I’m confident that we will have a decision soon. I just don’t want to put a date on it and say, it’s gonna come down at this time, it’s gonna come at that time.
“There is a decision coming and it’s hopefully sooner rather than later.”

CM Punk makes UFC 225 admission
Former WWE star CM Punk has admitted he's got a lot to prove in his UFC 225 bout with Mike Jackson.
“My first fight, Mickey Gall was the better guy. So it’s just like, ‘Do you walk away from that and just say good job?’ To me, I want to get better,” Punk said during the UFC 225 Countdown.
“My main motivation is just the drive. I’m not chasing money. If anything, you can say I’m chasing glory because I’m chasing that W.
“It’s my second fight and I’ve got a lot to prove. And I’m about to prove it to me and my team.
“You’re about to see a more experienced CM Punk.”
