Conor McGregor ‘shocked’ by reaction to UFC 223 bus attack, insider reveals
CONOR MCGREGOR was allegedly surprised by the reaction to his antics at the UFC 223 media day.
Conor McGregor, former UFC lightweight champion
Last Thursday, McGregor gatecrashed the event with his entourage looking for new UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
McGregor and his posse quickly learned that the Dagestan native, who a few days earlier was involved in an altercation with the Irishman's team-mate Artem Lobov, was on a bus about to leave the venue and converged on it.
In his attempt to lure off 'The Eagle' off the bus, McGregor threw a dolley through one of its windows.
McGregor has been widely condemned for his rampage, which led to three fighters being removed from the card.
And according to the Irish Sun, the former UFC lightweight champion was ‘shocked’ by the reaction to his actions.
“Conor was a bit shook after the whole thing,” a source close to ‘The Notorious’ is said to have told the paper.
“He didn’t realise it was going to turn into such an international incident.

“But it is what it is now.
“I don’t know if it was a case of things getting out of hand but he was 100 percent shocked at how the whole thing had snowballed.”
After handing himself into the NYPD, Ireland’s first UFC belt holder, 29, was charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief.

He is almost certain to receive a suspension from the UFC, which will further delay his long-awaited return to the Octagon.
According to the promotion's president Dana White, McGregor had earmarked September for his comeback fight.
However, at this moment in time, he doesn’t know if we’ll see the Dubliner back in action anytime soon.

“I don’t know,” White told the assembled media during the UFC 223 post-fight press conference. “You can’t ask me anything about Conor.
“I don’t know anything about Conor. I haven’t thought about it.
“There’s nothing to think about this week I think except for this event.”
McGregor, 21-3, hasn't set foot inside the Octagon since his historic UFC 205 victory over Eddie Alvarez, a triumph which saw him become the promotion's first simultaneous two-weight world champion.
Given the hype behind it, his first fight back in the promotion will more than likely be a bout with Nurmagomedov.
