ALEXANDER VOLKOV has his sights on the UFC heavyweight title after registering the biggest win of his career against Fabricio Werdum.

The former Bellator heavyweight king registered his sixth victory on the bounce last night in the main event of UFC Fight Night 127, which took place in London, England.
In front of a sold-out crowd at The O2 Arena, Volkov saw off the challenge of the former UFC heavyweight champion, who he defeated via third-round TKO.
Victory over Werdum, who entered the contest as the huge favourite, has well and truly catapulted Volkov’s name into title contention.
And he believes he's more than earned the right to fight for the belt in his next outing.
I want a title shot in Russia
“I want a title shot in Russia though,” he said in his post-fight interview. “That is what I really want.
“I would be so excited to fight for the belt in Russia. I want to bring the UFC to my country for the first time. If I can bring the UFC to Russia, I will be a fighter who has made history.
“I am so happy to be a part of the group of Russian fighters now fighting in the UFC. Thank you to all the fans who support me.
“I have seen more and more fans supporting me and it is always growing so thank you to all of them."
