On Sunday night, Mayweather seemingly revealed that he wants to fight the UFC’s lightweight champion inside the Octagon.
The boxer’s stunning revelation came in the form of an Instagram post, which featured a photoshopped picture of him elbowing a bloodied McGregor.
The accompanying caption read: “Certified Killa vs Certified B***h.”
Mayweather’s recent Instagram post caused a stir in the combat sports world, with many boxing and MMA fans questioning the reasoning behind the picture.
McGregor soon became aware of the snap, which used part of a picture from his UFC 196 bout with Nate Diaz, and responded with his own, which of course saw him have another pop at his most recent opponent.
Shortly after seeing Mayweather’s post, McGregor uploaded a picture of him elbowing Diaz during their UFC 202 bout.
The snap’s accompanying caption read: “A real elbow in a real fight.”
